OH HAILLLLLL NO!

Just found out through a Sam Winchester fanpage on Facebook that Jared Padalecki is now officially off the market as of yesterday, 2/27/2010. To whom though you may ask...to none other than Genevieve Cortese a.k.a Brunette Ruby from Supernatural season 4! How they started dating? According to E! online, the two started dating "stealthily" either during or after their steamy sex scene, in which during those moments in that episode i wanted to cry haha. Ow, I feel a pain in my heart...oh wait it's just the pain from knowing that he married her...the one who forced her to kill Lilith! Ahaha...but that's only one problem of my heart pain...the other...knowing that my beloved JENSEN ACKLES (oh Dean :) has been engaged to Danneel Harris (I know her as Rachel from One Tree Hill and whats her face from Harold and Kumar) since Nov of 2009. Yes I realize that I am a bit late on this news but it still makes me sad! Aigoo, just leave me in a corner with a box of tissue kthanks :P

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

I honestly LOVED the movie. I guess it's only because I'm a big nerd :P

Based off of the popular book series Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan, the first installment The Lightning Thief is about a 12 year old boy named Percy who finds out that he is the son of Poseidon, Greek god of the seas and waters. He also learns that he is a Demigod (half-human half-god) being accused of stealing Zeus' thunderbolt...kinda like the ultimate weapon of mass destruction if it should fall into the wrong hands. Basically, he's trying to he's not the lightning thief.

Now I have't read any of the books so I'm not sure what parts were accurate with the book and what wasn't. In the movie, Percy is older...looks about 17, in which he is played by 18 year old Logan Lerman...and my golly he is freaking adorable! I was pretty much on the edge of my seat the whole time because I was fascinated at how much I knew about the Greek myths they intertwined within the movie, and of course the book. I didn't really like Annabeth, only because Percy gave her "the stare" lol. Seeing Sean Bean as Zeus, I was just like BOROMIR!!!!!!!!!!! Golly so much to write about but too lazy to put down :P

Oh and another reason why I'm all into the movie is because it had Supernatural elements to it...which anything that i can relate back to SuNat, I like lol. Hellhounds, Hades, lost dreams and souls, etc. Oh yea and Luke played by Jake Abel was on Supernatural as Sam and Dean's half brother...I was like freaking out when I saw him in the movie haha. Good times.

I would recommend the movie, others may differ but only a true nerd would appreciate the movie lol. Or maybe it's just me.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief is now playing in theaters nationwide.

Pandorum in District 9?

***THIS ENTRY CONTAINS SOME PLOT SPOILERS!***

Hello hello! It's been a while since my last post.

It started with a phone call from my mom who was at our local Blockbuster checking out new releases to see which one I would be interested in watching. Of course I already had Pandorum in mind because the previews on tv and whatnot seemed quite intense. I told her to get whatever cause I just wanted to end the night in a good mood. By the time we finally settled down in our family room to pop in a dvd, my dad just got home from work and so we started movie night with District 9.

Aliens living in Johannesburg, there's site to see. While watching the movie I was thinking the whole time, "If they're suppose to be nice to the aliens, why are they such DICKS to them?" If you haven't seen District 9 yet, it's about aliens who's space craft like died in the Earth's atmosphere and it hovers over Johannesburg, S.Africa. After finding the aliens, an organization called MNU tries to create a living space for the aliens, in which they are called "prawns". Basically the MNU is evicting all the residences in the slums of District 9 to District 10. Now District 9 is actually like the first movie where I wanted the main character to die. Wikus Van de Merwe, played by Sharlto Copley, was a cocky, selfish, stubborn s.o.b. All he did was care about himself during the majority of the film. The only time you see him change his mind and decides to help a certain prawn to make it back to the ship was towards the end. All in all I thought the movie was aight. Only cool parts were pretty much when Wikus blew up everyone with the alien weapons. It gets pretty bloody and gory so if you have a weak stomach, I recommend you shield your eyes.

----------------------------------------

I ended my night with Pandorum and I must say, I pretty much fell in love with Ben Foster even more. I thought that Pandorum was better than District 9. I mean come on, who wouldn't want to wake up after being in hypersleep for who knows how long only to find out that something is wrong with the ship? What I dislike the most is when the movie trailers has nothing to do with the actual movie line. They make it seem like it's a life or death situation against the creatures in the movie BUT really Pandorum is the effect of going crazy and hallucinating after being in hypersleep for too long. The creatures were just a mere obstacle course for the main characters to get to the reactor in order to reboot the ship. The creatures weren't as scary as I assumed them to be. They reminded me of Orcs from Lord of the Rings (My all time favorite trilogy on film), so it made it bearable when they popped up out of nowhere. The action in this movie was pretty good, the twist in the plot was excellent, and all the character had a purpose in the movie which I like.

I would recommend Pandorum over District 9 any day. If you're into sci-fi movies with horror thrown in, go for Pandorum.
